Salvia officinalis –Â Perennial Shrub
This is an easy to grow perennial shrub that grows to about 2′ tall and has a similar spread. Aromatic gray green leaves are about 2″ long. Plant produces 2-3′ tall flower spikes with opposite clusters of pretty lavender flowers. Garden Sage leaves have long been prized for their pleasant pungency that pairs well with many savory dishes. I have become quite fond of sage leaves lightly fried in olive oil as a way to add an easy pizzaz to a meal. HOO.
