Modern breeding has produced some stunning cultivars over recent years and they have featured prominently in many Chelsea Flower Show gardens, often being the stars of the show. Easy to grow, tough and resilient, hated by slugs and snails and many flowering for months on end, it’s very easy to see why these beautiful perennials are loved by so many.
Grow in moist, humus-rich soil in a bright and sunny spot, although some shade can be tolerated. Divide regularly to keep plants blooming strongly.
