WINTERGREEN
Gaultheria procumbens Commonly known as Wintergreen, this low-spreading evergreen ground cover is native to eastern North America. During winter, it will turn heads with round, scarlet berries nestled in clusters of glossy leaves that turn hues of deep purple and red. Makes an excellent holiday centerpiece to bring festivity to the dining table. Leaves and berries have the aroma of minty wintergreen when crushed. A versatile plant that can be used as a beautiful gift, holiday decoration, or as a steely groundcover in the landscape. Hardy in zones 3-7.Â
